My heart goes out to each and every parent in your group for having the compassion and courage to put the thought of their child’s life, or lack of, before their desires.

I just read Kate’s story and it was amazing. My husband and I had our first son, CJ, on August 12,1991. He was born with HLHS. At that time, they were just starting the surgery to correct this and he underwent open heart surgery at 10 days old. We lost our precious angel on November 16, 1991.
I was set on not having anymore children, but my CJ told me not to give up. I was told when I got pregnant again that I would have the option of aborting the pregnancy if this child had the same condition. It is not something any parent wants to hear. Our Matthew was born November 13, 1992, perfectly healthy.
My heart goes out to each and every parent in your group for having the compassion and courage to put the thought of their child’s life, or lack of, before their desires. Anyone can be a parent but it takes a very special person to be a mom and dad in this situation. My prayers to all of them and God Bless each and every one of them
You are more than welcome to share my story. I feel it is very important for parents to know they have the support to make the difficult decisions that others may not understand.
